Behavioral Health Specialist

Temple Health is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team at Temple University Hospital's Episcopal Campus. As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Perform triage and crisis counseling to patients and their families
- Provide patient and family education on mental health topics
- Refer patients to community resources, institutions, and programs
- Participate in patient registration and validation of insurance coverage
- Collect and document assessment information
- Assist in monitoring patients to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
- Assist petitioners in completing involuntary commitment (302) procedures
- Associates Degree (Required)
- Bachelors Degree with coursework in counseling, sociology, psychology, human services, social work, criminal justice, or education (Preferred)
- 1 Year experience in a Mental Health related role and Associates Degree with coursework in counseling, psychology, sociology, social work, human services, criminal justice, or education OR 2 Years experience in public or private sector for human services with at least 1 year in a position involving direct client contact with Associates degree in any other coursework (Required)
- 1 year experience required with a Bachelors Degree in any other coursework or an LPN graduating from an accredited nursing or vocational school (Preferred)
- BLS - Basic Life Support (Required)
