Wireless Systems Automation Specialist

Role Overview

As a key technical contributor, you will take charge of the automation development for cutting-edge wireless SoC products. Your responsibilities will include creating the software infrastructure central to a silicon design team, which encompasses the framework for bringup, validation, characterization, regression, and reporting. This will involve designing and implementing a Python-based bringup framework, along with regression and validation tools, and a reporting and analysis engine. As the steward of the silicon performance infrastructure, your contributions will be vital in ensuring that Apple products surpass expectations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven experience in developing test and debug infrastructure for the characterization and troubleshooting of real wireless silicon in a laboratory environment.
  • Expertise in creating test automation, including equipment drivers, debugging tools, automation scripts, database interfaces, and reporting utilities.
  • Experience in automating measurements on wireless testing equipment such as signal analyzers, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Fundamental understanding of existing wireless communication protocols: 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be, LTE/WCDMA/GSM, or 802.11ad/ay, along with key Tx/Rx metrics like EVM and sensitivity.

Education & Experience Requirements

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of relevant experience is required. A Master’s or PhD is preferred.

At Apple, base salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package and is determined within a specified range. This allows for growth as you develop within your role. The base salary range for this position is between $170,700 and $300,200, with your salary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the chance to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Additional benefits include comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a variety of discounted products and free services, and reimbursement for certain educational expenses related to career advancement at Apple. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments.
