We are on the lookout for exceptional Vision Care Specialists to collaborate closely with our Optometrists, ensuring that every patient enjoys a remarkable experience during their eye examinations.

Your role will involve managing a significant number of patients, conducting preliminary assessments, assisting with contact lens training, facilitating video-assisted eye exams (when applicable), gathering essential information, and generally ensuring that our eye examination processes run seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities:
Act as the main point of contact between the doctor and the patient, fostering a positive relationship with all individuals undergoing eye exams.
Conduct initial clinical data collection, which may include: autorefraction, visual acuity assessments, intraocular pressure measurements, pupil evaluations, ocular motility assessments, retinal imaging, and lensometry.
Assist with both in-person and video-assisted eye examination appointments as available.
Guide new contact lens users by providing training on insertion and removal techniques. Additionally, mentor other team members (as directed by the Store Leader) on how to conduct this training.
Support patients and the store team throughout the entire appointment process, including appointment confirmations, annual exam outreach, and follow-ups for contact lenses to ensure a smooth experience.
Efficiently oversee the flow of patients through the eye examination process.
Assist the doctor in maintaining precise and accurate records of collected data.
Help prepare reports for other healthcare professionals as necessary.
Ensure compliance with governmental regulations and privacy policies (e.g., HIPAA/PIPEDA) and company protocols.
Maintain an organized examination room by restocking supplies, keeping contact lens trials current, ensuring cleanliness of equipment, and performing regular maintenance and calibration as required.
Provide support to the retail sales team as directed by the Store Leader.

Qualifications:
Professional, articulate, and possess a compassionate approach to patient care.
A collaborative team player who communicates effectively with doctors, store personnel, and patients.
Skilled in multitasking, organization, and time management to prioritize appointments and maintain efficient patient flow.
Able to think creatively when necessary.
Detail-oriented and comfortable with technology, capable of quickly learning and effectively utilizing new medical applications.
Enthusiastic about working alongside (or virtually) with a doctor in a high-volume retail environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years of experience in a medical setting supporting healthcare professionals.
Strong knowledge of eyewear and the ability to accurately explain the features and benefits of various products.
Familiarity with G Suite.
Previous experience in optometry, electronic health records, or medical care.
Knowledge of healthcare technology systems and equipment (EMR systems, retinal cameras, examination room tools).
Completion of an Optometric Technician training program or CPOT certification (Certified Paraoptometric Technician).
