Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to users, responding to their inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist users in finding library resources, including books, journals, and online databases, and provide guidance on how to use these resources effectively.
  • Support professional positions in the library, including librarians and library staff, by providing administrative assistance and helping to maintain library systems and collections.
  • Use library-related computer applications, personal computer applications, and computer equipment on a daily basis to perform tasks such as cataloging, classification, and circulation.
  • Compile reports and maintain records and statistical data as directed by library management.
  • Assist in the provision of access to library resources, including shelving, shifting, and inventorying physical materials.
  • Perform administrative tasks in support of the professional positions in the unit, including handling library mail and performing other duties as requested.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; additional job-related experience and/or education may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Five years of previous library experience preferred; experience working with desktop computer technology required.
  • Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.
  • All employees share the responsibility of maintaining information security and privacy requirements within the university by adhering to Federal and State regulations, and TWU Policies & Procedures.
