About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Coordinator to join our team at Children's Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary Psychiatry Consult team, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive and developmentally appropriate care to high-risk behavioral patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the nursing process to provide expert care to patients with mental health needs in the acute care, ICU, and ED areas.
  • Act as a psychiatric resource to bedside teams, providing clinical support, monitoring compliance with system policies, and maintaining a safe environment for patients.
  • Respond to behavioral emergencies throughout the hospital and collaborate with the interdisciplinary BERT team to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Stay up-to-date on regulatory standards related to the care of hospitalized patients with mental health needs and ensure compliance.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of job-related experience
  • Four-year Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers and Initial Pediatric Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behaviors (PPMAB) training
