Job Summary:

As an Ultrasound Technologist at Advocate Health, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and technical expertise in diagnostic ultrasound procedures. This position requires a strong foundation in anatomy, pathology, and imaging techniques, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct diagnostic ultrasound exams for pediatric to geriatric populations, demonstrating competence and attention to detail.
2. Collaborate with radiologists and peers to ensure optimal image acquisition and quality control.
3. Maintain accurate patient identification and adhere to infection control procedures to ensure a safe and secure environment.
4. Utilize RIS/PACS workflows to ensure proper image presentation, charge entry, and data integrity.

Requirements:

1. Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Ultrasound.
2. Registered by the ARDMS with subspecialty certification in OB/GYN, Abdomen, Breast, or Vascular obtained within one year of hire.
3. CPR Certification.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

This role requires the ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance and to use patient handling equipment when necessary. The incumbent may be exposed to hazardous chemicals and must be willing to perform job functions at various locations within the system. Ability to practice high-quality patient care and technical competence, as well as demonstrate oral and written communication skills, is essential.
