We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital. The successful candidate will assist the surgical team in the smooth and efficient operation of the surgical suite, ensuring a high level of quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist professional staff before, during, and after all surgical procedures.
- Perform OR support responsibilities related to surgical procedures under the supervision of an RN.
- Demonstrate knowledge of aseptic technique and ability to oversee its maintenance by all members of the surgical team.
- Assist surgeons with procedures done in the Operating Room, based on level of competency.
- Maintain patient safety by applying principles of body alignment during positioning.
- Perform activities related to indirect patient care.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- BLS certification required (American Heart Association).
- 1-3 years of operating room experience preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program through NBSTSA.
- Certification exam must be taken and passed within 12 months of completion of surgical technologist program.
