Job Description

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing systems engineering artifacts, including use cases, system requirements, and interface documents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and review interface documents, system requirements, and Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development.
  • Provide use case development support to junior systems engineering team members.
  • Support various tasks on short notice and work under the direction of the ART and various product owners.
  • Interface with team members, C2BMC management, and government customers to ensure high-quality products are generated on time and within resources available.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate technical approaches and findings effectively.
  • Experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software, and specialty engineers to develop solutions.
  • Demonstrated contributions to implementation, including the ability to analyze high-level needs and define a structured and logical approach to refine the capability into an integrated set of requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years experience, or a PhD and 0 years of experience.
  • Must possess an understanding of systems engineering processes and principles.
  • Must have Relevant Experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems and specialty engineers to develop solutions.
  • Must have a proven track record of successfully applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions.
  • Experience developing system engineering artifacts, including specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies, etc.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs.
  • Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD issued secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret clearance is highly desired.
  • Experience working within an Agile development environment, Domain experience with Space and Missile Defense.
  • Experience with Systems Analysis, Metric Development, MBSE, and Architecture development.
