About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer/Project Manager to join our team at GPD Group. As a key member of our Mechanical Engineering group, you will be responsible for leading project designs, mentoring junior engineers, and providing technical leadership in mechanical design for power generation and utility projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, interacting with various stakeholders, and providing complete engineering design, survey, facility assessments, construction administration, site walks, and field service.
  • Technical Design and Oversight: Analyze project control systems, lead power and utility project designs, and mentor junior engineers in technical skills and industry best practices.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the team to develop and execute strategic actions aligned with both the Mechanical team and GPD Group goals, driving growth and opportunity for the company.
  • Client Engagement and Management: Develop and build programs and client relationships to grow the team, understanding clients' needs, and translating them into specific scope and reporting systems.
  • Mentoring and Developing the Team: Empower teammates to find their passion and skills in our industry, providing mechanical engineering and technical training, and ensuring continued career success.
  • Administrative Oversight: Develop, communicate, and track workflow tasks, scheduling, champion GPD's quality assurance and client standards, and ensure project documents are consistent with project plans and within scope and budget.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: 10+ years of design experience in power generation, energy, utilities, industrial, manufacturing, oil and gas, with experience in managing engineers in design and documentation for project work.
  • Licenses and Certifications: PE License preferred.
  • Skills: Proficient in CAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other industry-standard software.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent communication skills, professional writing skills, ability to multi-task, and a servant leadership style.
