Sanitation Specialist - 3rd Shift
(Monday - Friday) 10:00pm-6:00am
The Sanitation Specialist cleans and sanitizes production rooms and equipment, following all written sanitation procedures. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare equipment for cleaning, removing any product left in equipment, covering electrical components, and disassembling machine components for cleaning.
- Clean equipment using air guns to blow off loose product, scraping cheese off surfaces, rinsing with hot water, and applying cleaning solution with portable compressed air foaming units.
- Clean parts by placing them in stainless steel baskets, rinsing with hot water, and soaking in a C.O.P. tank with cleaning compounds.
- Prepare cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Sanitize equipment by spraying sanitizing solutions on food contact surfaces using a central sanitizing system.
- Reassemble equipment after cleaning and sanitizing.
Requirements:
- Must possess basic mechanical skills.
- Must be able to visually inspect equipment.
- Must be able to lift and carry 70 lbs.
- Must be able to read well enough to identify contents of labeled chemical containers.
- Must understand safe handling of chemicals and complete a sanitation chemical safety class.
- Consistent and reliable attendance is required to maintain adequate staffing levels and meet customer commitments.
