We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Probation Officer to join our team at the Colorado Judicial Branch. As a Probation Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting the rehabilitation and supervision of clients, ensuring public safety, and upholding the rule of law.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments and develop effective case plans to guide supervision and ensure compliance with court-ordered conditions.
- Perform case management duties, including documenting client-related activities, reviewing client documents, and managing client e-files.
- Conduct face-to-face appointments and interviews, and respond to critical incidents and potential risks in the field and office.
- Collaborate with other judicial districts and states on victim-related concerns, and provide professional testimony as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including supervising staff, stakeholders, and the public on victim rights and community feedback.
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
- Less than 1 year of experience in criminal justice, law enforcement, social work, psychology, or a similar field.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to respond to aggressive interactions and maintain a high level of tact.
This position requires working in an office or similar indoor environment, with occasional exposure to jail environments. The individual must be able to exert up to 35 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly, with frequent exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards.
LanguageThis position requires proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, staff, and the public.
