Role Summary:
Support the nursing and medical staff in delivering care to patients in the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include basic patient care, monitoring vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, and fluid intake-output. Administer oxygen therapy, establish intravenous access, perform phlebotomy, urinary catheterization, gastric lavage, and suctioning as directed by the attending physician or registered nurse. Assist with fracture management, including cast or splint application. Operate electrocardiographic (EKG) machines and provide necessary examinations to the appropriate medical personnel. Ensure patient safety and well-being through vigilant observation and communication with the Charge Nurse or designated authority. Aid patients with daily living activities, including meals, mobility, hygiene, linen changes, and toileting as instructed. Report any compliance or equipment issues to the department leadership. Adhere to hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care responsibilities may encompass neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.

* TESTING - Collect and submit patient information for testing
* PATIENT CARE - Support patients with daily living activities as needed
* PATIENT TRANSPORT - Utilize wheelchairs and gurneys for patient transport
* EQUIPMENT - Maintain and stock necessary equipment and supplies
* MISCELLANEOUS - Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned

Qualifications
Education:
Essential:
* High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
* Completion of a relevant program (NA, MA, PCT, EMT-B, etc.)
Nonessential:
* Associate or Bachelor's Degree in a related field
Experience:

* Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Credentials:
Essential:
* CPR for Healthcare Providers or equivalent within 30 days of hire
Physical Requirements:
Medium Work: Ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
