Position: Senior Manager - Comprehensive Tax Solutions

Classification: Exempt

Reporting Structure: Reports to Partner

Role Overview

As a Senior Tax Manager, you will oversee the review and management of client engagements. You will be responsible for juggling multiple projects and coordinating workflow within your team. This role requires regular communication with clients to foster strong relationships and provide high-quality service. You will also be expected to conduct thorough tax research and accurately document your findings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for supervising projects and special assignments, adhering to established company policies and procedures.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring high-quality service and identifying cross-selling opportunities.
  • Coordinate various phases of tax return preparation, manage timelines, monitor performance against budgets, and prepare complex tax returns.
  • Identify tax issues and planning opportunities, communicating these to the Manager, Senior Manager, or Partner.
  • Delegate tasks to team members based on their expertise and capabilities.
  • Support the training and development of staff, providing guidance and constructive feedback on their work.
  • Ensure that all working papers, tax returns, and client deliverables meet professional and company standards.
  • Engage in the firm's practice development initiatives, including expanding services to clients.
  • Understand the day-to-day operations of the firm, including billing, collections, and staff utilization.
  • Participate in the Full Potential Development Program and mentor new hires.
  • Assume responsibility for learning new technologies introduced by the firm relevant to your practice area.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Duties

Provide supervision and on-the-job training to junior staff members.

Work Environment

This position may be performed in an office setting or remotely. Candidates should be located within the appropriate time zones.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
Travel Requirements

Minimal travel (25% or less) may be required.

Qualifications
  • Seven to nine years of tax experience in public accounting or consulting, demonstrating increasing complexity and project management.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
  • Current and valid CPA license is mandatory.
  • Membership in good standing with the AICPA and relevant state societies is required.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and relevant technology is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CCH ProSystemfx or CCH Axcess is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with multi-state corporations and ASC 740 is recommended.
