Role Overview: The Mammography Technologist I is responsible for conducting mammography, computed tomography, and various imaging procedures while adhering to the established standards of practice and the organizational policies, values, and mission.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately positions patients and selects appropriate anatomical and technical parameters.
  • Implements safety standards for radiation protection, applying the ALARA principle to minimize exposure for patients, self, and others.
  • Assesses patient needs and provides education according to specific departmental protocols.
  • Maintains a quality assurance program in compliance with FDA and MQSA regulations.
  • Reviews patient history and physician orders to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Educates patients about procedures and equipment to foster understanding and cooperation.


Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or higher in Science or a related field required upon hire.
  • A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • No prior experience is required.
  • RT(R) - Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Radiology required upon hire.
  • RT(M) - Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Mammography required upon hire.
  • RT(CT) - Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Computed Tomography required upon hire.
  • ROC - Radiation Operator Certification in the state of Kentucky required upon hire.
  • BLS - Certification as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment.

  • Advanced skills and knowledge in the area of specialization are required.
