Position Overview:
The Lead Radiologic Technologist plays a pivotal role within the Department of Public Health, overseeing diagnostic imaging operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality radiologic services. This position is integral to the effective functioning of the imaging department, guiding a team of technologists and support staff to achieve optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
1. **Leadership and Management:**
- Serve as the lead technologist for assigned shifts or areas, managing workflow and resource allocation.
- Assign tasks to Diagnostic Imaging Technologists and support personnel, ensuring efficient operations.
- Prepare and oversee work schedules, performing time reporting duties and inventory management.

2. **Training and Development:**
- Act as a mentor for new staff, providing training and orientation on equipment and procedures.
- Document initial and ongoing competencies of team members, ensuring adherence to best practices.

3. **Diagnostic Imaging Procedures:**
- Conduct a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures using advanced modalities, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Apply principles of radiation safety in compliance with regulatory standards, utilizing protective measures to minimize exposure.

4. **Patient Care and Safety:**
- Assess patient conditions, monitoring stability and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Document all procedures and patient interactions accurately in medical records, maintaining data integrity.

5. **Quality Improvement:**
- Participate in departmental quality assurance initiatives, conducting routine quality control procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A minimum of four years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
- A current license as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) in California.
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and certification in at least one advanced modality.
- A valid permit for Fluoroscopy equipment and a CPR certification.
