About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician to join our team at Wellpath. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for assessing and treating patients, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, and ensuring high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough physical assessments and coordinate medical care for patients throughout their hospital stay, including ordering lab tests, X-rays, and EKGs as needed.
  • Provide medical treatment, including minor surgical procedures and pharmacotherapy, and monitor ongoing care of patients' medical conditions.
  • Communicate effectively with other staff members, make referrals for tests and consultations, and educate patients and their families about their medical diagnoses.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assessments and care provided by self and advanced practice nurses.
  • Provide on-call coverage for after-hours care of patients and adhere to safety procedures and WRS Code of Conduct Standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Medical doctorate (MD) from an accredited university.
  • Two (2) years post-residency clinical experience in an inpatient setting, with psychiatric experience preferred.
  • Licensed in the state of employment and current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification.
  • Board certified or eligible in internal or family medicine.
