Job Overview

The Production Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the manufacturing and warehouse teams within a dynamic 24/7 operational framework. This position is primarily accountable for ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of the production schedule, alongside managing daily inbound, outbound, and warehouse transfer shipments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage manufacturing and shipping/warehouse processes to guarantee the consistent production of top-quality products while ensuring safe work environments.
  • Uphold company standards for safety, quality, efficiency, and cleanliness among all production and warehouse personnel.
  • Recruit, train, and manage staff, addressing attendance, vacation scheduling, and disciplinary matters as necessary.
  • Ensure adequate staffing across all departments to meet production and shipping/receiving schedules effectively.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within production and warehouse operations.
  • Supervise Shift Supervisors, Production Engineers, and Warehouse Managers to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to align production and shipping/receiving schedules, ensuring timely and quality fulfillment of customer orders.
  • Coordinate maintenance service times to uphold equipment safety and performance standards.
  • Work closely with the Technical Service & Quality Manager to identify and resolve quality issues through root cause analysis.
  • Adapt work schedules to accommodate unforeseen circumstances, optimizing labor, tools, and equipment usage.
  • Facilitate effective problem-solving for critical issues, ensuring prompt identification, containment, and resolution to prevent recurrence.
  • Enhance and advance employee training programs, ensuring consistent skill development for all team members.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for plant operations.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO certification requirements in manufacturing systems.
  • Maintain operational expertise and responsiveness to both internal and external customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical/Petrochemical Engineering) or Chemistry, with over 5 years of management experience in chemical or paper manufacturing.
  • In-depth knowledge of Process Safety Management in chemical plant operations.
  • Familiarity with chemical processes, techniques, and basic mechanical equipment operation.
  • Experience with batch manufacturing processes and utilities in a chemical plant.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to implement significant organizational changes.
  • Preferred experience in process control (PLC) and data analysis.
  • Multi-functional experience across Manufacturing, Technical, and Business domains is advantageous.
  • Exposure to Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Continuous Improvement methodologies is preferred.
  • Background in operations, maintenance, and equipment tools is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of process design for equipment is a plus.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a collaborative spirit.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
