Ground Support Equipment Technician

Amentum is seeking a skilled Ground Support Equipment Worker to join our team in El Centro, California. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on GSE, including troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctions
- Inspect and test GSE to determine serviceability and proper operation
- Service equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air
- Disassemble and assemble malfunctioning GSE accessories and components
- Store, handle, label, use, and dispose of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with environmental standards and regulations
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Requirements- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Two (2) or more years of experience working on GSE or equivalent equipment
- Experience in use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned tasks
- Must read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to his/her job
- Must have a High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Pre-employment drug screening is required
- Must be able to obtain Department of the Navy Local Population ID Card/Base Access Pass Registration
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
- Experience and/or appropriate training in functions such as Inspection maintenance and repair on various ground support equipment or equivalent equipment
- Diesel and electrical mechanic experience is a plus
- Able to work efficiently with minimum supervision
