Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Material Handling Equipment Operator Lead to join our Supply Chain team at Staples, Inc. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for mentoring and training new material handlers, filling in for supervisors as needed, and ensuring the safe and efficient movement of products within the warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and train new material handlers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and effectively.
  • Fulfill supervisory responsibilities as needed, including overseeing the operation of material handling equipment and ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks to move products within the warehouse.
  • Stack empty pallets and maintain a safe and clean workspace.
  • Ensure safe work practices and adhere to our safety culture.

Requirements:

  • 12+ months related experience in a warehouse environment; or any equivalent combination of acceptable training, education, and experience.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent permissible legally.
  • Ability to lift, push or pull equipment/merchandise weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to walk and stand 100% of the time.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
