POSITION SUMMARY


Under close supervision, this role focuses on delivering sales and customer service functions primarily aimed at retail clientele, leveraging expertise in sales strategies and industry knowledge.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Provide exceptional customer service to retail clients through various channels, including in-person, phone, and email. Assist customers with inquiries regarding product selection, pricing, availability, and return policies, utilizing a comprehensive understanding of company offerings and operational procedures.


2. Engage actively in promoting and selling company products and services, including providing estimates and quotes for small-scale projects (e.g., stairs, decks, fences, sheds).


3. Accurately input orders into the system and coordinate the scheduling of product deliveries.


4. Manage personal work efficiency to achieve daily, weekly, and project-related productivity targets.


5. Participate in organizing and facilitating customer workshops.


6. Address and resolve basic customer complaints, escalating more complex issues to senior staff as necessary.


7. Assist with store maintenance, including signage, stocking, inventory management, and other related tasks.


8. Adhere to all safety protocols to prevent injury to oneself and colleagues; attend safety meetings as required and suggest improvements to safety practices.


Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.


SUPERVISORY ROLE

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.


QUALIFICATIONS


To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform each essential duty effectively. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:


- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) along with six months of sales-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES


- Familiarity with company products, competitor offerings, and industry standards.


- Understanding of pricing structures, discount policies, and estimating guidelines.


- Strong verbal and written communication skills.


- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.


- Excellent customer service capabilities.


- Basic knowledge of sales techniques and the ability to influence and persuade.


- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.


- Ability to operate both motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment.

- The role involves a mix of typical office settings and outdoor environments, subject to varying temperatures and weather conditions.


- Must be capable of lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 80 pounds.


- Standing or walking for approximately 80% of the workday, with frequent stooping and kneeling.


- Occasional use of hand tools, saws, forklifts, and pallet jacks to assist customers.


- Reaching in various directions as needed.
