Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Safety Policies and Procedures: Create and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures that comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA.
  • Lead Safety Audits and Investigations: Conduct regular safety audits and investigations to identify and mitigate potential hazards, and ensure that corrective actions are taken to prevent future incidents.
  • Provide Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on safety procedures, protocols, and best practices, and ensure that all employees understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with operations management, safety committees, and other stakeholders to embed a behavior-based safety culture and ensure that safety is integrated into all aspects of our business.
  • Monitor and Analyze Safety Trends: Collect and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and develop strategies to mitigate risks and prevent incidents.
  • Develop and Implement Emergency Preparedness Plans: Create and maintain emergency preparedness plans to ensure that our organization is prepared to respond to unexpected events and minimize the impact of incidents.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date on changing regulations and ensure that our organization is in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in EHS management, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, excellent leadership and communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
