Job Summary

The Medical Assistant - Team Recorder will be a vital member of the healthcare team at the Department of State Hospitals - Atascadero. This role will provide clinical support to patients and staff, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the creation and update of treatment plans using various computer programs.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment by applying medical and mental health procedures and techniques.
  • Perform clinical duties, including obtaining patient vital signs, administering vaccinations, and performing infectious disease testing and blood draws.
  • Attend all trainings, meetings, and committees as directed.
Requirements
  • Possession of a valid certificate from an agency approved by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Medical Board of California, to practice as a Medical Assistant.
  • Ability to work in a secure treatment area and maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
