As a Behavior Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in implementing behavior management strategies tailored to the needs of those we serve. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing and nurturing therapeutic relationships with individuals to foster trust and engagement.
  • Adhering to treatment plans and utilizing sound judgment to seek appropriate guidance when necessary.
  • Collaborating effectively with families and treatment teams to ensure seamless implementation of behavior management techniques.
  • Educating parents and guardians on reinforcement strategies and intervention techniques upon request.
  • Encouraging safe and socially acceptable behaviors to enhance communication, social skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Objectively reviewing progress using behavior analytic methods, identifying barriers, and providing recommendations to supervisors and behavior analysts.
  • Accurately collecting and documenting behavior data, including A-B-C, frequency, duration, and other relevant metrics.
  • Completing necessary documentation and incident reports in accordance with agency policies.
  • Preparing and facilitating leisure activities to keep individuals engaged during non-therapy times.
  • Participating in clinical meetings to discuss access reviews, progress, and other relevant updates.


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, Associate's, or Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience working with youth, families, and individuals with developmental disabilities is essential.
  • RBT Credential is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Strong listening skills with an empathetic approach to guidance.
