Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assembly Technician to join our team at Senior Aerospace AMT/Damar. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling aerospace structural sections from parts, subassemblies, and components independently and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform assembly tasks with a high level of skill and attention to detail.
  • Install units, parts, equipment, and components in structural assembly, according to blueprints and specifications, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Bolt, screw, or rivet accessories to fasten, support, or hang components and subassemblies.
  • Drill holes in structure and subassemblies, and attach brackets, hinges, or clips to secure installation or to fasten subassemblies.
  • Locate and mark reference points and holes for installation of parts and components, using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments.
  • Inspect and test installed units, parts, and equipment for fit, performance, and compliance with standards, using measuring instruments and test equipment.
  • Position and align subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments, following blueprint lines and index points.
  • Cut, trim, and file parts, and verify fitting tolerances to prepare for installation.
  • Install bushings using liquid nitrogen or presses as required.
  • Apply sealants or paint per customer specifications using proper safety devices.
  • Use shop equipment needed to complete operations, such as C-squeeze, arbor presses, ground stud puller, cherry pullers, and shop hand tools.
  • Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications using standard measuring tools as required.
  • Run parts that meet engineering specifications without supervision.
  • Read and interpret manufacturing drawings at an intermediate level.
  • Recognize production problems, inform supervisor, and make recommendations for improvements or solutions.
  • Perform work instructions completely.
  • Follow all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Demonstrate a good attitude toward work and a reliable attendance record.
  • Follow instructions and demonstrate strong attention to detail.
  • Communicate well verbally and in writing.
  • Be mechanically inclined, with good manual dexterity.
  • Have a minimum of 1 year of previous assembly experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Have basic shop math skills.
  • Be able to read and follow work instructions.
  • Complete an aptitude test during the interview process.
