Job Title: Physician, Moonlighter

The Neurosurgery Moonlighter is a critical member of our team, providing evening and weekend coverage for the Neurosurgery and Spine Service line at Regions Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain coverage for existing patients and newly transported or admitted patients needing medical attention from Neurosurgery and Spine.
  • Work in conjunction with the first call attending to coordinate the care of patients within the hospital.
  • Assist in the operating room and on the nursing units, assisting the surgeon with positioning the patient and room setup, opening and closing incisions, and integrating advanced technology into intra-operative procedures.
  • Provide consults from the emergency department, ICU, and other floors within the hospital.
  • Be available by pager when first call and have access to the electronic medical record from home.
Requirements:
  • Medical Degree (M.D. or D.O.)
  • Current active MN license
  • Prefer 1-2 years' experience in neurosurgery or spine surgery and inpatient environment
