Job Title: Recreation and Program Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Recreation and Program Assistant to join our team at Jewish Senior Home LWCC. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents.

Job Summary:

The Recreation and Program Assistant is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing recreational activities and programs for our residents. This includes leading programs, assisting with housekeeping duties, and providing medication reminders. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a passion for working with seniors.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and lead recreational activities and programs for residents, including arts and crafts, games, and outings.
  • Assist with housekeeping duties, including dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning bathrooms.
  • Provide medication reminders and assist with medication administration.
  • Communicate with families regarding resident progress and needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the House Manager.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of experience working with seniors, preferably in a recreational or therapeutic setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting and transferring residents.
