Social Services Director

Social services managers play a critical role in providing case management services to families, including support for siblings attending multiple schools and wrap-around services offered through the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District or other local agencies.
Key Responsibilities- Provide case management services to families, including family support and wrap-around services
- Collaborate with school staff and community agencies to provide comprehensive support to students and families
- Develop and implement trauma-informed services to support students and families
- Provide counseling services to students and families as needed
- Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies and resources to support students and families
- Master's degree in social work, counseling services, child psychology, or human services
- Alaska State licensure, such as LPC, LCSW, or LMSW, or an Alaska Type C Certificate with an endorsement in school counseling, school social work, or related area
- Experience in child advocacy and parent outreach with school-age children
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to use a computer for correspondence, data tracking, and reporting
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with school staff and families
