Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineer-in-Training to join our team. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of municipal engineering projects. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of preparing construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates, and will gain valuable experience by visiting project sites and interacting with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for municipal engineering projects.
  • Visit project sites and meet with clients as needed to discuss project requirements and progress.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment on complex municipal infrastructure projects, including roads, safety paths, storm sewers, water mains, sanitary sewers, recreation facilities, plan reviews, and site development.
  • Manage multiple projects efficiently, ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
  • Develop accurate cost estimates and project schedules.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and studies to support project planning and decision-making.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • EIT certification required.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision.
  • Understanding and knowledge of applicable codes and regulations.
  • Experience in water and wastewater engineering is desired.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and other relevant design software.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
