Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our Nucor Buildings Group team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing safe and efficient low-rise steel building systems for various structures, including airplane hangars, churches, gymnasiums, strip retail centers, and manufacturing/industrial buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop custom and industry-standard structural framing solutions for challenging building conditions.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to manage projects and ensure timely completion.
  • Develop and enhance current design software to improve productivity and accuracy.
  • Perform quote engineering functions, including preliminary design and proposal qualification.
  • Represent Nucor Buildings Group as an engineering resource in project meetings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or similar degree from an ABET-accredited school.
  • Passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and certified as an Engineer in Training with the state board of professional engineers.
  • Preferred qualifications include Professional Engineer (P.E.) and/or Structural Engineer (S.E.) registration in the United States and/or Canada.
