Government Relations Executive

About the Role:
As a Government Relations Executive at Maryland Auto Insurance, you will be responsible for leading the Government Relations Team and interacting with State elected and appointed officials and government agencies on behalf of Maryland Auto and its policyholders.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor legislation and policies that could have an effect on Maryland Auto or its policyholders, providing regular updates to Maryland Auto leadership about relevant policy proposals and actions.
- Analyze and interpret legislation and policy documents to assess potential impacts to the organization and clients.
- Communicate and advocate Maryland Auto priorities to State elected officials, building and maintaining professional relationships with elected officials, State agencies, and staff.
- Collaborate with industry advocates, State agencies, and the Governor's Legislative Office to discuss legislative activity.
- Develop a wide range of legislative materials, including written and oral testimony, reports, talking points, fiscal notes, factsheets, and letters.
- Assist with the development and implementation of legislation and special projects.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in government relations, public policy, legislative affairs, or lobbying, preferably within the Maryland state government or in a regulated industry.
- Demonstrated experience working with elected officials, government agencies, and advocacy groups to influence public policy and regulatory issues.
- Strong knowledge of the legislative process in Maryland and experience tracking, analyzing, and advocating for legislation at the state level.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining strategic relationships with lawmakers, regulators, and other key stakeholders.
- Experience drafting and presenting policy briefs, position papers, and testimony to legislative bodies or regulatory agencies.

Salary and Benefits:
The estimated salary for this role is $94,070 - $150,728, with an excellent benefit package including comprehensive health and dental coverage, pension plan, 401(k) plan, and incentive program tied to strategic corporate and departmental goals.
