At Interstellar Lab, we are dedicated to building a sustainable future for life on Earth and beyond. As a Systems Engineer on our Space Program team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing cutting-edge plant growth systems for LEO and lunar payloads.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the development and application of advanced systems engineering methods to solve complex problems.
  • Utilize the system engineering process and apply Interstellar Lab's engineering philosophy to ensure the meeting of requirements for our hardware.
  • Analyze, create, and maintain payload systems designs to build a state-of-the-art, fully mechanical system capable of safely and reliably meeting required performances.
  • Interface directly with engineering leads to ensure the successful integration and operation of our systems.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar position, preferably working on ECLSS or other life support systems.
  • Proven ability to operate in a highly collaborative team environment and a fast-paced small business environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on verbal and written communication.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Fluent in French, Italian, German, or another language.

Working Conditions:
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time.
