Senior Systems Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Next Step Systems in Los Angeles, CA.

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

About the Job

This is a full-time opportunity for a motivated and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain complex cloud-based systems and infrastructure.

  • Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud infrastructure solutions using Microsoft Server technologies and VMware virtualization platforms.
  • Maintain and optimize existing cloud infrastructure, ensuring maximum uptime and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize system upgrades, migrations, and new project initiatives.
  • Analyze and resolve technical issues related to cloud infrastructure, including troubleshooting and debugging of complex problems.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of expert experience working with storage solutions, such as vSAN, NetApp, and VAST Data.
  • 5+ years in the capacity of System Engineer over Microsoft server systems.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, building, securing, and managing virtualization technologies based on the VMware stack (ESXi, vCenter).
  • 7+ years of systems analysis.
  • 5+ years of experience working with storage technologies.
  • Expert proficiency in network and storage design and maintenance (Storage Area Network (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS)).
  • Expert proficiency in Active Directory architecture and complex administration.
  • Expert proficiency in cyber risk and system hardening techniques.
  • Solid working knowledge of encryption technologies (PKI, Cipher Suites, Certificate Authority, HSM).
