Job Summary

Cascade Union Elementary is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Behavior Intervention Specialist. This role is responsible for providing consultation and support to our staff in implementing positive behavioral support plans, as well as assisting with the development and implementation of classroom programs for students with behavioral challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist staff in the implementation of behavior plans and provide consultation and support as needed.
  • Develop and implement behavior strategies and interventions to support students with behavioral challenges.
  • Collaborate with site staff to design and implement classroom programs that promote positive behavior and academic success.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on behavior plans and interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of student behavior and progress.
  • Develop and implement data collection systems to monitor student behavior and progress.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years of experience working in an education setting implementing intensive behavioral intervention programs for students with complex and/or severe behavioral problems.
  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade and/or an Associate's degree or higher.
  • Ability to become certified in non-violent crisis interventions.
  • Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • First Aid and CPR training desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • AA degree or higher in a related field.
  • Pro-Act training and certification.
  • Ability to pass a physical exam and clear TB test and background fingerprint check.
Working Conditions

The Behavior Intervention Specialist will work in a fast-paced educational environment and will be required to sit, kneel, squat, crawl, and move quickly to address student behavior. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to move students for safety and/or transition times.
