The responsibilities listed below are indicative of the primary functions of the position and are not exhaustive.
Teaching & LearningEstablish and uphold exceptional standards of instruction and effective learning by adhering to teaching quality assurance protocols.
Engage in teaching-related activities such as designing, preparing, and developing educational materials; conducting lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions; providing student consultations, invigilating examinations, and assessing student performance.
Develop and implement instructional strategies to enhance student learning and engagement.
Contribute to the development of courses and curricula.
ResearchEngage in scholarly endeavors, including conducting research, presenting at conferences, publishing in academic journals, and participating in relevant community initiatives.
Administration & Other ActivitiesInvolve yourself in administrative tasks such as attending departmental meetings and participating in committees and working groups within the Department and School as necessary.
Engage in ongoing professional development activities relevant to the field.
Assist in creating partnerships with external organizations and professional bodies concerning academic matters.
QualificationsA minimum of a PhD with at least seven (7) years of pertinent teaching or industry experience in Physiology.
A record of 10 publications in indexed journals (ISI, SCOPUS) within the last five (5) years.
Secured research and/or consultancy grants as a Principal Investigator totaling a minimum of RM150,000 (cumulative).
Supervised at least two (2) PhD candidates to completion.
A minimum H-Index of five (5) in Science & Technology.
Experience in creating educational methodologies and materials, including the effective integration of IT technologies in teaching and learning.
Proven connections to relevant external organizations and/or the profession.
Demonstrated capability in securing industry or government-linked research funding.
