Traffic Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Traffic Engineer to join our team at Psomas. As a Traffic Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and delivering multiple traffic engineering projects for public, private, and institutional clients in Southern California or beyond.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and deliver multiple traffic engineering projects, including signal, signing-striping, worksite traffic control/stage construction, and traffic impact studies.
- Coordinate with supervisors to provide all necessary design, coordination, and follow-up work to ensure agency requirements and quality standards are met.
- Prepare traffic engineering construction documents, technical reports, calculations, cost/quantity estimates, and specifications.
- Lead site visits, client meetings, QA/QC, and coordination with agencies for obtaining permitting approvals and be familiar with local regulatory requirements and procedures.
- Prepare schedule, budget, scope of services, and collect additional services, budget monitoring, and corrective action recommendations.
- Provide supervision, mentoring, and training to technical engineering team members, assign projects to engineers with timetables for completion, and provide technical assistance and reviews the work of assigned employees.
- Be responsible for setting goals and evaluating staff performance.
- Support or lead business development, marketing efforts, including planning, negotiation of contracts, presentations, proposals, RFPs, and RFQs, recruiting, and interviews.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Licensed/registration as a Professional Civil Engineer (PE) and/or Traffic Engineer (TE) in the State of California.
- Minimum 2 years of management experience in engineering and design with a focus on traffic engineering.
- Possess expert technical knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures with proven experience in preparing technical reports, designs, specifications, and computations within traffic and transportation engineering.
- Familiarity with local design and procedures, regulatory compliance, and agency coordination.
- Thorough understanding of schedule, budget, and scope of services.
- Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic, Agi32, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or VISSIM.

- A competitive salary, with an expected range of $130,000 - $185,000 depending on experience.
