Traffic Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Traffic Engineer to join our team in Southern California. As a key member of our traffic engineering group, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing traffic management solutions for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the preparation of engineering reports, studies, and analyses in areas such as traffic operations, safety, travel demand modeling, and transportation planning.
- Work efficiently and effectively to complete tasks within project schedules and budgets.
- Lead tasks and projects independently and mentor junior staff.
- Conduct traffic operational analysis using microscopic simulation software such as VISSIM, Synchro, and SimTraffic.
- Analyze traffic signal operation on arterials and networks, specify data collection, develop new signal timing parameters, and input traffic signal plans into central control systems.
- Design and analyze traffic surveys to evaluate signal timing effectiveness.
- Prepare traffic engineering plans for signal designs, signing and markings designs, and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) designs.
- 4 or more years of transportation or traffic engineering experience post-graduation.
- B.S. in Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
- U.S. Driver's License.
- California PE/TE or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
- Master's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- PTOE - Professional Traffic Operations Engineer.
- Local CA project experience.
- Experience using Microstation, ArcGIS, and Synchro/Sim Traffic.
- Understanding and familiarity with MUTCD and DOT Design Guidelines and Standards.
