Position Summary

The Lowboy Driver plays a crucial role in the safe transportation of heavy machinery to and from job sites. This position may also involve a variety of tasks, adapting to the workflow as necessary.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proficiency in the safe operation of construction and paving machinery.
  • Ensure the secure loading and unloading of heavy equipment.
  • Maintain knowledge of USDOT and FMCSA regulations.
  • Conduct daily inspections of vehicle fluid levels, checking for leaks and damage before operation.
  • Report any vehicle maintenance needs to the supervisor.
  • Calculate the weight of equipment to comply with DOT permitting standards.
  • Safely operate a water truck, flatbed, and other commercial vehicles as needed.
  • Adapt to changes in schedule, location, and shift times.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL with a driving record that meets MVR policy standards.
  • Current Medical Examiners Certificate (FMCSR compliant).
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry over 50 lbs.
  • Preferred: Experience operating lowboy trailers.
