Position Summary

The Senior Financial Accountant plays a pivotal role within the Accounting & Finance team, tasked with reconciliations, period-end closing activities, journal entry preparation, variance analysis, and internal management reporting. This position offers significant growth opportunities as the accounting department evolves and implements ongoing process improvements.

This role is classified as Hybrid, allowing for remote work on designated days while requiring onsite presence on specific weekdays in Aventura, FL.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in the period-end closing process, including the preparation of journal entries, supporting schedules, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure the accurate capture, reconciliation, documentation, and disclosure of all essential financial data in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Generate reports and conduct analyses.
  • Maintain compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Propose and implement solutions to enhance accounting efficiencies.
  • Provide assistance during the annual audit as necessary.
  • Serve as a backup for accounts payable and/or accounts receivable functions.
  • Support special projects and additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in both public accounting and private sector accounting.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a proven ability to analyze, interpret, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Consistent in meeting deadlines, well-organized, and adept at managing peak workloads.
  • A creative thinker with a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Dedicated to delivering high-quality work in a timely manner.
  • Capable of swift analysis, evaluation, and decision-making.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
