Job Requirements- 1 year of experience in Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- BLS, NMT National certification from the AART or NMTCB, and state-specific licensing when required
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing radiopharmaceutical agents and administering them to patients prior to using a scanner or camera to capture images. They will also provide technical support to physicians or others who diagnose, care for, and treat patients and to researchers who investigate the uses of radioactive drugs.
Key Responsibilities- Attain required approval and signature by nuclear medicine physicians
- Transfer, position, and instruct patients in preparation for procedures
- Operate the scanner or gamma scintillation camera
- Perform procedures including injecting radiopharmaceuticals under the direct supervision of a radiologist
- Provide assistance to patients during procedures
- Ensure the environment is safe at all times for patients and staff by following safety and radiation disposal procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Understand and use the McKesson PACS system
