Job Summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a skilled EKG Technician to join our team. As an EKG Technician, you will be responsible for operating EKG machines to record diagnostic cardiac activity for testing purposes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Explain procedures to patients and prepare them for EKG testing
  • Record cardiac activity and observe findings
  • Generate reports for physician diagnosis
  • Attach electrodes and operate EKG equipment
  • Stand for extended periods and lift/move equipment as necessary

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a recognized EKG training program or documented on-the-job EKG training. At least one year of directly related patient care experience in a healthcare setting is also required. Experience in Holter Monitor scanning and Stress Treadmill procedures is preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
