Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Mobility to move around the healthcare facility and assist patients with positioning for EKG procedures
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to attach electrodes accurately and operate EKG equipment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move equipment as necessary
  • Visual acuity to read EKG tracings and identify abnormalities
  • Emotional resilience and compassion when working with patients who may be experiencing cardiac-related issues

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a recognized EKG training program or documented on-the-job EKG training and at least one year of directly related patient care experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. Experience in Holter Monitor scanning and Stress Treadmill procedures is also preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
