Job Summary
The EKG Technician II is responsible for operating EKG machines to record diagnostic cardiac activity for testing purposes. This role involves explaining procedures to patients, preparing them for electrode attachment, recording cardiac activity, observing findings, and generating reports for physician diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate EKG machines to record diagnostic cardiac activity

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Mobility to move around the healthcare facility and assist patients with positioning for EKG procedures
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to attach electrodes accurately and operate EKG equipment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move equipment as necessary
- Visual acuity to read EKG tracings and identify abnormalities
- Emotional resilience and compassion when working with patients who may be experiencing cardiac-related issues
Education and Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a recognized EKG training program or documented on-the-job EKG training and at least one year of directly related patient care experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. Experience in Holter Monitor scanning and Stress Treadmill procedures is also preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
