Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Clinical Health Psychologist to join our team at the University of Virginia's Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences. As a tenure-ineligible Assistant or Associate Professor-level Clinical Health Psychologist, you will play a key role in providing clinical services, teaching, and research in the field of health psychology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outpatient evaluations and evidence-based interventions for individuals diagnosed with medical and psychological conditions in the Behavioral Medicine Center.
  • Develop and lead innovative specialty programs in consultation liaison, learner wellness, pediatrics, and transplantation, with opportunities for continued growth and expansion.
  • Teach and supervise postdoctoral fellows, doctoral-level practicum students, and/or psychiatry residents in clinical health psychology.
  • Pursue research interests and engage in scholarly activities, with access to internal funding mechanisms and national collaborations.
Requirements
  • PhD/PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • Postdoctoral experience in Health Psychology is strongly preferred.
  • License-eligible in the Commonwealth of Virginia and licensed by date of hire.
  • Board certified or eligible for board certification from the American Board of Professional Psychology.
What We Offer

This position may be eligible to convert to tenure-track at an appropriate time in the future, consistent with School of Medicine Promotion and Tenure guidelines and candidate qualifications.
