Responsibilities:- Psychological Assessment and Treatment: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments of people with HIV to identify psychosocial factors impacting their health and well-being, and provide evidence-based individual psychotherapy.
- Behavioral Health Integration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to integrate behavioral health services into the medical care setting, ensuring comprehensive and whole-person care for people with HIV.
- Education: Opportunities for teaching include didactics and supervision with Infectious Diseases residents and fellows. You may also have the opportunity to supervise Clinical Health Psychology post-doctoral fellows in the Ryan White Clinic.
- Program Development: Partner with Ryan White clinic leadership to develop and implement new programs and initiatives aimed at improving the psychological well-being and overall health outcomes of Ryan White Clinic populations.
Location: The University of Virginia Medical Center is located on the main university grounds of the University of Virginia, in Charlottesville, a picturesque small but cosmopolitan city that offers a blend of historic charm, natural beauty, and cultural vibrancy.
Qualifications: Candidates must have a PhD/PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program. Postdoctoral experience in Health Psychology is strongly preferred. Preference will be given to those with experience providing empirically-based psychological interventions with medical populations, consulting with medical staff, and performing medically-specialized psychological evaluations. Candidates must be license-eligible in the Commonwealth of Virginia and must be licensed by date of hire. Board certification is a requirement for clinical privileges within UVA Health, and individuals are expected to obtain board certification after hire, typically within 3 years.
