Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Psychologist to join our team as a Behavioral Health Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and directing a Behavioral Consult-Liaison Service, providing psychological evaluations and interventions for children and adolescents, and collaborating with medical and interprofessional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Leadership: Collaborate with our current CL psychologist to develop and lead a Behavioral Consult-Liaison Service.
  • Psychological Evaluations and Interventions: Provide psychological evaluations and short-term interventions for children and adolescents admitted for medical and surgical concerns.
  • Consultation and Collaboration: Provide consultation to medical and interprofessional teams, and collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Outpatient Services: Provide outpatient psychological evaluation and treatment for youth in an integrated subspecialty medical setting or in a new outpatient behavioral health clinic.
  • Teaching and Education: Teach medical fellows, residents, and medical students, and participate in departmental and health system committees.
Requirements
  • Education: PhD or equivalent from an APA-accredited program.
  • Experience: Post-doctoral experience in pediatric consultation liaison is preferred.
  • Licensure: Licensed or license-eligible in Virginia.
  • Cultural Competence: Demonstrate cultural humility and be skilled in interprofessional practice in a complex, academic medical environment.
