Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Mechanic to join our Maintenance department at our Grand Forks, ND food manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining smooth plant operation, including production and packaging processes, support systems, and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Disassemble, assemble, repair, construct, overhaul, maintain, and install all types of new and existing processing and packaging equipment and conveying, hydraulic and air systems as required.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks.
  • Respond to calls for service to any line in a timely manner.
  • Independently troubleshoot equipment that is in need of repair or that is operating at a substandard level.
  • Makes repairs and adjustments in a timely fashion to ensure as little downtime as possible.

Requirements:

  • High School Education or GED required.
  • 2 years of experience as an industrial mechanic is required.
  • 1 year of Fabrication skills preferred.
  • 1 year of Welding preferred, wire feed primarily.
  • Ability to read, write and interpret documents.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics a plus.
  • Knowledge of 460 3 phase voltage a plus.
  • Knowledge of electrical controls a plus.
  • Good troubleshooting abilities as well as knowledge of processing operations.
  • Ability to communicate, read and write in English in order to understand and follow work, GMP, and safety instructions.
  • Must be able to work any day and/or shift including weekends and holidays.
  • Must have physical ability and strength to perform assigned tasks.
  • Required to lift and/or carry up to 55 pounds on occasion.
  • While performing the duties of these jobs, employees are regularly required to stand, talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle or feel, push/pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach with hands and arms 2/3's of the time.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent changes that occur on the production line.
  • Must be able to perform all the above tasks in an environment with high heat (90 degrees F or greater) and humidity and cold temperature (40 degrees F or lower) at times.
  • Must be able to communicate and work in a team environment.
