Job Title: Equipment Mechanic

Altec Industries, Inc. is seeking a skilled Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As an Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, ensuring that our fleet is in top working condition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components
  • Utilize technical support resources to troubleshoot and identify parts needed for repair
  • Perform Unit Condition Inspections and Reports
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Advise supervisors of situations that may impact customer relationships
  • Provide accurate and sufficient information on required documents
  • Demonstrate Altec Company Values
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Physical effort to move objects and tools that may weigh up to 75 pounds
  • Must be willing to travel
  • A high level of dexterity
  • Ability to support customer by working overtime
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous field mechanic and/or equipment service experience
  • Education in mechanics, electrical or hydraulic systems
  • Experience with aerial devices, digger derricks, chippers, cranes; or construction, mining, farm equipment such as excavators, skid steers, dozers or tractors; or military heavy equipment such as the MRAP vehicle, HMEE, or tanks; aircraft and aerospace or ground support equipment (AGE/GSE) or similar
