Role Responsibilities

As a Disaster Recovery Technician, you will respond to service requests at both residential and commercial locations, assisting in the cleanup and restoration of damage caused by water, mold, smoke, and fire. You will collaborate closely with the crew chief to ensure that the needs of homeowners and customers are effectively met. Additionally, you will maintain the cleanliness and organization of vehicles, equipment, and workspaces.

Key Duties Include:
  • Adhering to work orders from the Crew Chief, checking travel routes, and ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are loaded.
  • Completing assigned tasks according to SERVPRO protocols while following the Crew Chief's guidance.
  • Executing water damage repairs, including extraction, content pack-out, and disposal of non-salvageable materials, as well as light construction and demolition as directed.
  • Properly handling equipment and supplies, reporting any malfunctions or damages to the supervisor, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Preparing and staging areas for work activities within homes or businesses.
  • Understanding and adhering to safety and risk management guidelines on-site and during travel.
  • Potentially responding to storm-related incidents across the country.
Qualifications
  • Positive attitude, punctuality, and a strong work ethic are essential.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime, be on-call, and work weekends as required.
  • Experience with mobile software for data entry.
  • Ability to read and follow product label instructions.
  • Consistent punctuality and adherence to uniform standards.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Certifications are preferred but not mandatory, including:
    • WTR - Water Damage Restoration Technician
    • ASD - Applied Structural Drying Technician
  • Willingness to travel locally and out of state as needed.
  • Ability to pass a background check in accordance with applicable laws.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lifting up to 50 pounds and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Exposure to various chemicals.
  • Capability to walk, stand, drive, sit, and climb for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, including crawl spaces.
  • Repetitive tasks involving pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying objects.
