The Project Accountant plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing financial matters for Project Managers and Principals across all SGH offices.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Acting as the accounting and finance resource for technical teams on assigned projects.
  • Reviewing contracts and project documentation for financial and reporting obligations.
  • Collaborating closely with project managers and principals to ensure precise accounting for job costs and revenues.
  • Generating invoices and supporting documentation in accordance with contract stipulations and input from project managers and principals.
  • Managing the collection of accounts receivable and reconciling cash receipts.
  • Preparing ad hoc reports and delivering timely financial insights to project managers, principals, and company leadership.
  • Monitoring and analyzing budget progress and recommending improvements for project performance.
  • Verifying subcontractor and vendor invoices to ensure compliance with contract terms.

Providing Guidance on Accounting Best Practices

You will serve as an authority on GAAP and the firm's internal accounting policies and procedures, while maintaining organized accounting files and records.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Management is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in general accounting, accounts payable, or accounts receivable is preferred.
  • Experience or understanding of the AEC industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with government contracting and procurement is advantageous.
  • Experience with Deltek Vision is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with a strong commitment to responsiveness and customer service.
