As a **Cashier** at Jerry's Foods, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service to our customers. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing assistance to customers and ensuring high standards of service and courtesy from all team members.
  • Welcoming customers, offering help, and expressing gratitude for their patronage.
  • Addressing inquiries or directing them to the appropriate channels, responding to customer requests efficiently.
  • Conducting price checks as necessary.
  • Promptly responding to customer assistance calls and needs.
  • Escalating customer issues to management when required.
  • Monitoring customer interactions to ensure a positive and accurate experience.
  • Efficiently scanning products and processing customer transactions with accuracy.
  • Minimizing wait times for customers during checkout.
  • Ensuring all items are accounted for before processing customer orders.
  • Requesting and accurately processing coupons before finalizing transactions.
  • Scanning items to ensure proper identification by the register system.
  • Obtaining prices for unrecognized items and documenting discrepancies as needed.
  • Handling products with care to maintain quality.
  • Utilizing proper phone etiquette and paging system protocols.
  • Adhering to policies regarding the sale of restricted items.
  • Managing all forms of payment and coupons accurately.
  • Counting and entering cash into the register system.
  • Processing credit and debit card transactions efficiently.
  • Handling electronic transactions, such as food stamps, accurately.
  • Verifying checks and utilizing the check verification system appropriately.
  • Ensuring coupon validity and entering them into the correct department.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.
  • Accurately processing voids, returns, refunds, and exchanges.
  • Following established return and exchange policies.
  • Completing necessary refund documentation and logging transactions.
  • Conducting transactions with courtesy and efficiency.
  • Following safety and security protocols at the front end.
  • Employing appropriate scanning techniques and ergonomic practices.
  • Being familiar with store emergency procedures.
  • Applying security measures as needed for proof of purchase.
  • Reporting theft or shoplifting incidents to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assisting with front-end maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Organizing and stocking registers, filling bag stations, and performing back-end tasks as needed.
  • Restocking and organizing products at checkout as directed.
  • Adhering to all store and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
