Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Avionics Systems Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle. As a key member of our Avionics Systems Engineering team, you'll work closely with our multidisciplinary team to drive New Glenn to flight, ensuring the interface between Avionics and launch vehicle subsystems is seamless.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement avionics systems for New Glenn, ensuring safety, reliability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate avionics systems with launch vehicle subsystems.
  • Design, develop, and test avionics systems, including software, hardware, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct safety analyses and risk assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Work closely with our operations team to ensure smooth launch and recovery operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment, including DMM, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Prior experience in safety-critical industries, such as aircraft, rockets, or medical devices.
  • 2+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on requirements capture, tracing, and verification planning.
  • Proficient in Python and experience with verification test automation.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to explain complex engineering concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with safety analyses, such as ARP4761 and NUREG-0492.
  • Knowledge of avionics specialties, including instrumentation, RF, and Ethernet networking.
  • Experience with software tools, such as JIRA, Oracle Primavera P6, and MATLAB/Simulink.
